We also call them “Dual Purpose Sunglasses” because you get sun protection, plus a small reading lens – all in one. Standard sun readers are not “bifocal”. They have a full reader lens, so you must take them off to “enjoy the view”. If you’re reading a book in a beautiful spot (like Kauai), the view may be important to you.
Optimal Viewing & Comfort
Our bifocal sunglasses are custom made specifically for Hawaiian Lenses. We gave special attention to the placement of the reading lens for optimal viewing and comfort. We worked closely with manufactures to size the small reading lens so that it won’t interfere with your distance vision. It is a subtle detail, but when it comes to your vision, the details are very important. Also, the small magnifier is molded into the lens and only visible from the inside (no one will know).
Quality Frames & Lenses
Hawaiian Lenses offer UV400 protection and meet all FDA Standards. Frames are made of high grade, impact resistant and scratch resistant PC (polycarbonate). We offer a variety of mens and women’s fashion forward styles; available in 1.50, 2.00 and 2.50 magnifications. Bonus Value: We also offer lens customization. If you need a different strength for each eye, we will customize your frames at no additional charge. Just let us know your lens requirements in the “send seller a message” portion of the checkout form when you place your order.
Most reader lenses are too large and positioned incorrectly so they interfere with your long vision and are uncomfortable to wear. Our reading lens is positioned so well, you won’t even realize it’s there – until you need it.
